Why is Flash Memory a Thing?
So I usually don’t get that worked up about things like this, but here is a special case. After attending and rocking out at the Imagine Dragons concert (which, if you haven’t heard of them, you should get to Youtube now), I naturally wanted to upload some of the pictures and video segments I took of the amazing performance. Long story short, Windows doesn’t like naming a folder “concert” and Apple iOS is a little cocky shit for having deleted files be transferred to flash memory. What this translates to is that of the several videos I took of the show, only one survived the transfer. Coupled with Apple’s stupidity in locking their filesystem down tighter than Area 51 and lack of open-sourced recovery programs, my previous passiveness over my iPhone has increased to a stable burning hatred of the corporate bullshit I’ve had to put up with regarding new technology.
TLDR, flash memory is a stupid way to story temporary files and whoever thought that was a good idea should be shot.
